The 5 Stages of Love: Why Too Many Stop at Stage 3

The 5 Stages of Love: Why Too Many Stop at Stage 3

We all want a real & long lasting relationship, Yet relationships fall apart & most of them don't have any idea, why they are not together anymore. They don’t understand that Stage three of the five stages of love is not the end, but the real beginning for achieving real & long lasting relationship.

Stage 1: Falling in Love

Falling in love with someone is a process that floods us with hormones such as dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, testosterone, and estrogen. Falling in love also feels great because we project all our hopes and dreams on our lover.
Everything is just wonderful during this stage.
There are chemistry and attraction and the promise that the two will be together forever.

Stage 2: Becoming a couple

During this phase, we experience less of the falling head-over-heals “in love” feelings. We feel more bonded with our partner. The “I” disappears and turns into “us” and “we”.

Stage 3: Disillusionment

This is the stage when most relationships collapse.  It’s when things start to go bad all of a sudden when we realize that our partner isn’t perfect. This is a period where things begin to feel bad. It can occur slowly or can feel like a switch is flipped and everything goes wrong.

Stage 4: Creating real, lasting love

Most people stop at stage 3 because they think it’s the end. They probably think that because the connection was lost, it cannot be regained. But relationships are complex and they require a lot of hard work and commitment.

Stage 5: Changing the world together

If we can work our issues with our loved one, then maybe we can use that power to change the world for the better. What a wonderful thought.
